Technology is advancing at a very rapid rate thanks to the microprocessor. As electronics are getting more complex, the need for more powerful devices to control these electronics increases. These smart mini-computers are used in almost everything that runs on electricity today. Microprocessors can be found in many household items including refrigerators, televisions, gaming systems, washer/dryers, and many other items. More importantly, the introduction of the microprocessor and microcontroller to the automobile was a breakthrough in vehicle safety and engine efficiency. With the use of these mini-computers we now have safety features like anti-lock brake systems and more precise airbags. Also with the help of microprocessors cars are getting much better gas mileage than they were in the late 1900’s. This paper will go into detail of the importance of microprocessors in automobiles and the benefits that come with them. First off, what is an ECU? An ECU is the computer that controls many things on an automobile. The owner Jeff Bozo understood that in order to remain competitive in this business they had to first focus on the needs of the customers. Understanding what customers want and need is was very beneficial for the success of the company. Also expanded its merchandise at a lower cost would also attract more customers to order from Amazon. Another benefit of Amazon was that they had partnership with numerous transportation companies and could provide fast and accurate service to their consumers. Amazon has experienced many negatives ratings from some of their customers because of some of the defective merchandise they have received. The Colby told me to return the merchandise back to Amazon and they would replace it. Although once I went on Amazon website to find out how to return the item it was fairly easy. I felt as though instead of me returning the item back to Amazon I should have returned the item to Colby and they could have sent me a replacement item. Now I have to wait until Amazon gets the old MPH player and the they order me another one from Colby. I would recommend that Amazon find out a way to cut out the middle man so that consumers can get their replacement items in an expeditious manner. Discussion 2. Determine the impact if Amazon. But once the word get out that both these companies have become and establish E-Business like Amazon they should have no problem with becoming marketable in the E-commerce business. Not all consumers are happy with ordering merchandise from Amazon, so therefore it will take another company to get into the E-commerce business and have an established reputation and more will follow. In order for Barnes and Noble and Borders to become successful they need not to try and duplicate what Amazon is already doing in the E-Business. They need to come up with other creative ways to market their products, and also try and offer better pricing and better shipping rates than Amazon has to offer. Like anything, at first business may be slow for both companies because this is a new venture for them. But once the companies understand how the E-Business works and what customers want and need I don’t for see any problems with them marketing other items other than books over the internet. Discussion 4 Determine what Amazon. Mom would need to do to expand their distribution chain to include some brick and mortar outlets, and whether or not this would be a good idea. As stated above the intrinsic value of stakeholders dominate the management of an organization when it comes to decision making. In the context of corporate responsibility, normative approach is more appropriate than ethical approach. The success of an organization does not only depend on the managerial efforts but there is a lot of contribution made by its stakeholders to see the ship sail through. For that purpose, organizations realize the participation of stakeholders and keep their rights on top of any priority. All the mechanism which any organization applies to protect the rights of shareholders, and is kept at the most important practice is known as corporate governance structure (Fassin et al. 2017). Legal and legitimate rights of the stakeholders are agreed upon by the management and actions or decisions which forfeit those legal rights are prohibited. These rights are given to the stakeholders to intervene in the decision making and profit making actions to maximize the efficiency of work in the organization (Haefner and Palmi 2017). These legal rights provide the stakeholders with authority to change the flow of work according to their perspective which is always bonafide. These legal rights clear stak eholders to receive classified information about the firm to oversee and act accordingly. They can also stop any unethical work going on behind their backs with the help of these legal rights. It also backs the commitments made to the stakeholders and they can sue the company if those commitments are not fulfilled (Horng et al. 2017). As mentioned above, stakeholders are the key to achieving success for an organization. They have an intrinsic value of their own and keeping their interest as a top priority is the job of core management of the organization. It is a conventional practice that management of an organization is responsible and answerable directly to the stakeholders. If any issue arises, the stakeholders directly contact the top management of the firm. To manage the stakeholders is a difficult task and needs proper identification of the types of stakeholders (Lim and Greenwood 2017). Some of them are visionaries, some of them are bullies and ghosts. Since it requires a lot of PR skills to manage each and every one of them and satisfy their needs, managers must be skilled. The response of core management comes handy as they have the authority to answer and negotiate with the stakeholders. Their commitments and statements seem more authentic in the eyes of the stakeholders (Miles 2017). Being in the core management of the firm it is their natural obligation to work for the progress of the company and even look into the interests of the stakeholders. They maintain a balance between both entities as only they are capable of pulling this thing off. There are many methods of communication between the management and the stakeholders of a firm. This communication is very important to win the trust of the stakeholders by keeping them in the loop about changes occurring in the management. Some of the methods are: Meetings: It is the most common way of communication in which each member is allowed to speak and discuss work-related Counter questions clear any doubts about the topics under consideration (Mitchell et al. 2017). Conference Calls: To save the time and expense of travel conference calls have been the most frequently used tool in todays world. It breaks the barrier of time and place of meetings. Newsletter/Emails: This is a one-way communication to notify the stakeholders about any update or report which is related to work (Oliveira et al. 2017). Details of the work can be conveyed in much simpler and faster way to all stakeholders. In the same way, needs of the stakeholders can be conveyed to the management through methods of communication. If any discussion or clearance is required to implement the proposed changes then the management can discuss it within them and notify the stakeholders afterward. It completely depends on the nature of demands of the stakeholders, that it will be accepted by the management or not (Oppong, Chan and Dansoh 2017). Identification of the stakeholders is of utmost importance in making a strategy to manage them. Since the stakeholders react in different circumstances it is imperative to pick and choose them in your own best interest. I would like to choose the internal stakeholder such as low key employees, dealers and contractors who can have an immediate impact on the work of a project. Mapping them is much easier as they are in frequent contact with the management. Communication with them can leverage the status of work and resources available to complete the project (Rivera et al. 2017). They are easy to handle and mitigate as their demands are less and short term which can be easily fulfilled and manipulated. It makes the grip of management on the stakeholders demand very tight to get the work done without much hassle (Wright,Hudson and Wright 2017). To effectively manage the stakeholders are to create a strategy for the purpose, I will create an Organizational Breakdown Structure first. This structure may be of a tree in which classification of different departments and groups will be done. Then I will categorize the stakeholders into three circles such as immediate circle, community circle and observational circle. This will allow me to separate the interests and involvement of the respective stakeholders (Horng et.al 2017). After that, I will do an assessment of the impact of stakeholders which they hold on decision making of the organization. This will simplify the intentions and interests of the stakeholders in different modules of the firm. Then to complete this method I will create a power-interest grid to give a clear picture of the stakeholders position in the firm. Keeping each stakeholder in the relevant quadrant of the grid according to the power they hold and interest they have will classify them further (Diouf and B oiral 2017). Which resources will you require? To formulate a strategy for managing stakeholder, the resources I would require is the nature of work of the stakeholder, their interest in the organization, thepower they hold in the decision making process and their preference of work culture. To manage and convince the stakeholders I would need the data about their personal likings, their financial position in the firm, amount of money they have invested as capital, their expectation of return from the firm and other business interests (Fassin et al. 2017). These variables will give a clear picture of everything which a stakeholder wants from the firms management. Knowing these details will give me the leverage to handle them individually. Stakeholders want to be valued and involved in the management which can be granted to them with the help of above-mentioned resources (Haefner and Palmi 2017). To measure the level of success I have achieved in managing the stakeholders, I will use some commonly used key performance indicators applied for the purpose. These indicators will clearly define the extent of success of the management strategy. The first method which I will use is conducting anonline survey. It is the most simple and by far the best method of knowing the rate of success and getting feedback from the stakeholders(Lim and Greenwood 2017). I can choose any tool such as Zoomerang or SurveyMonkey to set up an online survey in which questionnaires will be provided regarding the level of satisfaction of the stakeholders and feedback which they want to give to improve my strategy. The second method is to run Focus Groups in which brainstorming sessions are done to get inputs from the stakeholders about the progress mange by the management team(Oppong, Chan and Dansoh 2017). The third method is the direct one which is interviewing the stakeholders. This will be a private me eting in which one-on-one interaction will be done to get the feedback. The entire planned developed by me will be deployed to improve the strategy of stakeholder management. I will use this approach to get to the bottom of requirements of stakeholders and to know their real expectations. As it is a well-known fact that stakeholders are the most vital part of any organization, keeping them happy and satisfied is very essential for the success of the firm (Rivera et al. 2017). My strategy is very comprehensive and deals with each and every aspect of stakeholder management and it can be applied to get better results according to the need of the company. Our megalomaniacal coach (his words, not mine), stands in front of me, screaming at my debate partner. As his words resonate through the cabin and saliva spatters everywhere, the flight attendant runs over and tries to calm him down. All I hope is that I am not the next target of my coach’s explosive temper. We land just as soon as I finish reviewing Michigan’s â€Å"Gates Counter-Plan.† The topic of the debate is: the U.S. federal government should substantially increase public health assistance to Sub-Saharan Africa. I whip out my perpetually-rehearsed 1AC speech and begin. â€Å"Contention 1 with regards to harms, Contention 2 with regards to inherency, Contention 3 with regards to topicality, Contention 4 with regards to solvency, and finally the affirmative plan.† One look at the expressions on my opponents’ faces and I know I have this in the bag. It’s an easy win, and I breeze through the next three rounds. Quarter final time. I present the affirmative case, and I’m on fire. However, upon cross examination, the negative team goes for a sneak-attack: the malficeian theory. The debate rages on and finally the decision is made—my winning streak is over. I sully out of the room with consternation on my face and knot in my stomach. I let down my school, my team, and above all—the coach. During the award ceremony, I receive a trophy for being in the top eight teams of the tournament. Mr. Miles approaches and beckons me into the hallway. I brace myself for the wave of ridicule and saliva. He takes the trophy out of my hand and takes a good, long look. Then he does something that he had never done before. He gives me a smile. â€Å"I’m pleased David,† he says. â€Å"I’m very pleased.† As the words come out of his mouth, a plethora of thoughts rush through me. And I have a moment of realization, an epiphany, if you will. I realize that I am not a debater for anyone or anything else. Not for Mr. Miles and not for a shiny statue. I debate because of all that I receive from the sport. I relish a chance to research a topic and all of its views. I embrace the teamwork that is essential for success. And I embrace the fact that the debate has done more for me than I have for it. The team has made me a proficient speaker and writer, one who can get his point across clearly, with just the right amount of words. Like in this case: 615 words, to be utterly exact.

Leo

Leo I still remember the long bus ride to the capital with my first grade class. I was so excited to see the beautiful gold domed building with magnificent marble floors and tall pillars.The first thing I did when I got off of the bus was to look for the president; I was sure that I would see him here at this grand building. I actually thought that the president lived in Charleston, West Virginia (the capital of our state). Once I asked my teacher where he was, she gently told me that the president was in Washington; we were here to see the governor.In my young mind I could easily equate the president and the governor together. There really didn't seem to be much difference between them, they were both important men. Dolch Sight Words for Kindergarten to Third Grade The Dolch Word Lists were developed by Edward W. Dolch. He researched English text he found published in the United States and found those words that show up the most in text. Some of those words are decodable, because they follow general phonemic and spelling rules for English. Many, however, are not decodable but instead are irregular, meaning they do not follow the rules of English. Over 50 - 75% of the most commonly used words are found in the Dolch List below. The Dolch Lists are among the most highly respected tools in the field of reading instruction, and are critical for creating meaning in text- using those common verbs, articles, and conjunctions to make words into language.   The Dolch lists are also valuable for word walls. Word walls provide a dictionary for emerging writers as well as readers, as they look to find the words they need to write. Dolch created a spiraling list of sight words that builds from grades to grades. You can add words from the lists to your word wall as you expand your students skills through appropriate pre-primer or primer decodable books, which will have many of the sight words. Then, you can encourage your students to use the word wall words in writing samples. Still, the goal should be to write to communicate, not write to meet some teachers requirements. Students with reading and language difficulties often dislike writing tasks- make them fun and make them about communicating their meaning and they will flex their writing muscles! How to Use the Dolch Words: Play games with them, cut the cards out and use them as flash cards.Use oral reading activities with the cards. Hold up the word, and use a sentence with a blank prompting the child to state the word. For instance: I liked that movie so much that I watched it _________ (again).Use and oral cloze activity, placing three cards, one that fills the cloze. You can have the child point to the correct word. This is especially good for children with reading skills but apraxia. i.e. John went to the park to (swim, and, the.)Shuffle the Dolch cards, turn them over one at a time and use them in a sentence.Have students go back and highlight (and correct, when necessary) the word wall words in their journal entries or free writing.   Daily routine use of the words will build reading confidence. The 46 year old blockade, he added, had intensified suffering by Cubans and made worse by numerous hurricanes striking the island nation. Cuba had on many occasions declined to accept help from the US during the hurricanes. Countries that voted in support of Cuba claimed that the US always responded to the matter with its customary hypocrisy and sarcasm. They blamed the then Bush administration for constantly deceiving the international community. The Cuban Foreign Minister received support from many countries when he asserted that if the US government trul y cared about the well being of the people of Cuba, and other countries in the wider perspective, they would immediately end the blockade. It was their only ethical and moral way of redeeming their name from the evils of the blockade that was in violation of fundamental regulations of the UN Charter and international law. More member countries were against the move by the US that implemented new and enhanced economic sanctions over Cuba. I could recall seeing the driver ram straight into the car in front, a second later I was flung head first into the driving seat almost unsitting the driver who nonchalantly pushed my head aside. The only other recollection is seeing flames and being suffocated by fumes of burning petrol. The accident left me with gruesome facial cuts, an upper broken jaw with six teeth less. In modern day United Arab Emirates, the causes such accidents are as varied as the number of accidents. There are times when you cant really blame anybody. Nobody expects a sudden thick fog during the rush hour, it was quite an unfortunate scenario but you dare not snarl in the highway because you could be the cause of another accident. The combination of reckless over confident drivers with such weather conditions only spells doom to the careful drivers who will slow down and ensure that there is sufficient space between his vehicle and the next but there is no knowing who might ram into your rear. It is therefore an unwritten rule that one simple mistake like slowing down even in zebra crossings might result in traffic accident. Despite all these unwritten rules, you cannot surely escape being labelled a very stupid person if you drive at 120km/h in a silly thick fog. It is always the first car in the crash that causes the accident, whether he was driving beyond the police legal allowance, a copy of the many paper on the driving wheel or coffee on the other hand, the prerequisites to such traffic accidents are seen every day on our highways. It gets even more harrowing when people drive while answering phone calls or when rich spoilt kids zoom at dangerous speeds in brand new SUVs. I was dispatched from the hospital after three intensive months of medical care. By slowly recollecting the past, trying to shift what might have caused the accident and what might have not, trying to find a rationale why as a passenger I had much more serious injuries than the driver who only escaped with minor injuries the answer to my stupid injuries hits me hard, Buckle up! : That was the difference between the driver and me. Its even more hurting that I had to learn painful way. The seat belt usage is the savior if you are to be involved in such accidents. These are a very many road casualties that arise due to our refusal to buckle up. Presently the campaign â€Å"Your safety is in using safety Belt is helping people understand the importance of buckling up. Additionally, as we speak now heavy fines are being levied on those apprehended for not putting on their safety belts. This has come only after the realization that traffic accidents cause more deaths than murder and is only second to death caused by cardiovascular diseases. Motorcycle Helmet Usage

The use of helmets in the United States is a highly controversial topic. The government has enacted and then repealed laws intended to uphold state helmet laws twice. Currently, regulation laws vary state to state. Twenty states have comprehensive helmet laws. Seven states require riders under the age of twenty to wear a helmet, while 19 states require riders under the age of eighteen to wear one. Only three states, Colorado, Illinois, and Iowa, have no helmet regulation whatsoever. Motorcyclists protest their personal freedom, while others complain about the tax burden and higher insurance rates.Motorcycles account for less than 2% of all registered vehicles in the United States and 0.4% of all vehicle miles traveled. Unfortunately, riders account for more than 9% of all traffic deaths. Over the past ten years motorcycle related deaths have increased by about 89%.The motorcycle is both the most fuel efficient and the most hazardous highway vehicle there is. More than 2,500 motorcycl e riders die in the United States each year, and over 60,000 are injured as a result of an accident. In general, riders and non riders seem to agree that it is obvious that a helmet can reduce the chance of brain injury and death.However, some believe helmets are more likely to cause an accident in the first place. Helmets limit hearing and peripheral vision capabilities which make it difficult for riders to be fully aware of what’s going on around them. The weight of the helmet, combined with hot weather can cause a sense of claustrophobia resulting in anxiety and dizziness. It is likely in these types of situations there is an increase in the chance of an accident. It is also possible to become paralyzed because of a helmet during a crash, under the right circumstances. This leaves some riders to believe there are similar risks whether they wear a helmet or not and they should be able to choose between to two.Some riders simply feel that helmets are uncomfortable and bulky, and it should be their own decision whether or not they want to wear one. And to others, they perceive the use of a helmet as â€Å"uncool†, which is enough justification for them.Contrary to some beliefs, a study by the National Public Services Research Institute concluded that the use of a motorcycle helmet does not interfere with the driver’s capability to hear or see what is going on around them.  Data collected by the National Highway Traffic Administration regarding motorcycle accidents in states where there is only a helmet law for minors indicates this type of helmet law is more difficult to enforce. The data showed that less that 40% of minors killed in crashes were wearing helmets, even though it was required by law.When a catastrophic accident has occurred, the financial burden is usually placed upon private insurers or the state. So in a state where there are multiple head injuries due to motorcycle accidents which require extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation, tax payers and others who carry insurance are financially affected. As a result, a number of people do support enforcing the helmet regulation laws since they feel directly impacted.The Crash Outcome Data Evaluation System (CODES) conducted an analysis of three states with the universal helmet laws and three states without. The inpatient charges for brain injury were double the cost in the states without the universal helmet laws. Numerous studies have concluded that motorcycle crash victims who were not wearing helmets are less likely to have insurance than crash victims who were wearing helmets.Others are less concerned with the financial burden, and more concerned with the psychological impact of witnessing a gruesome disaster, or having a friend or family member die in such a manner. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, (NHTSA) head injury is the number one cause of death in motorcycle accidents. A survey conducted in 1998 concluded t hat 46% of fatally injured motorcyclists were not wearing helmets. The NHTSA estimates that helmets diminish the possibility of death by 29% in a crash. In 1989, six states enacted a law requiring the use of helmets. All six have seen a reduction in deaths from motorcycle accidents since then.In 1980, motorcycle rider fatalities reached a record high of 5,144. By 1990 the numbers had decreased to 3,244. For the year of 1997 there were only 2,116, an all time low.  Other research indicates that helmet laws significantly decreases fatality rates, saves taxpayer’s money, decreases money lost due to missed work, and reduces the severity of head injuries. A study carried out in California showed that during the first four years after the elimination of the federal sanctions, motorcycle deaths increased by 61% while motorcycle registration increased only by 15%.In Hawaii, research conducted by the Department of Transportation showed that motorcyclists are three times more probabl e to suffer a traumatic brain injury as a result of a motorcycle crash.  The accuracy of statistical information is questionable. It has shown to be difficult to retrieve financial and medical information due to privacy rights and a lack of data. More information has been successfully collected from surviving crash victims than ones who did not survive. There may also be other contributing factors to these accidents besides the fact they weren’t wearing helmets. Different weather and the length of the riding season can have a significant impact on the varying statistics.Other alternatives to reducing the number of fatalities have been suggested. Riders tend to be more supportive of raising safety awareness and mandating education before obtaining a license, since it is common for motorcyclists to learn to ride without any type of education.  In Japan, the new motorcycle riders may start off with the smallest sized motorcycle, and after a set amount of time they are allowe d to graduate to a larger motorcycle. If similar regulations were mandated in the United Sates, the number of fatalities could decrease without helmet laws.Some place the blame on inattentive automobile drivers. It is common to see automobile drivers talking on their cell phone, eating, drinking, etc. Distracted drivers are less likely to use blinkers and potentially more likely to hit a motorcyclist they did not notice previously. An emphasis on defensive driving because of these types of disasters in driver education could help promote safety and reduce motorcycle-related injuries.Small incentives could help promote the use of motorcycle helmets, rather than a mandatory law. For example, a reduction in the cost of motorcycle insurance for wearing a helmet might be beneficial. Some motorcycle stores have been known to give away free helmets, or offer to install free two-way communicators in them in hopes to encourage the use of helmets.While the majority of the public seems to supp ort a mandatory helmet law, the majority of actual motorcycle riders support freedom of choice. There are good arguments supporting both sides. This is a highly debatable topic similar to one’s right to risk dying of lung cancer because they choose to smoke. How Organizational Culture Can Support Creativity and Innovation when we think of the terms Innovation and creativity we automatically think of the Individual. We often ask ourselves, what can the Individual bring into an organization? What type of creativity does the Individual have that can support the organization and how would it help the organization grow? When we refer to the culture in an organization we should consider if everyone In the organization have shared values and beliefs that contribute towards the organization. If so what is the organiz ation doing to influence these work ethics. It is important that individuals maintain a healthy organizational culture because it is an observable powerful point In the organization. hitch has a potent effect on the company well king and Its success. Now that we have analyzed the Importance of organizational culture, lets examine In how it can be done. Creativity and Innovation comes into the organization in a form of a cycle in most cases. These two aspects are influenced by the organizational culture, while the organizational culture is mostly influenced by the organization itself and the experience the workers bring with them tom previous employers (Qwabe. 2013, P. 3). The organization Influences from the very beginning of the hiring process. From the selection process the company chooses a certain amount of Individuals In which they eel have qualities that can bring a positive outlook to the company. These qualities may include; dynamic personalities, strong values and a clear vision on how to operate the business. Another way the company influences from this point is the type of attitude the interviewer is portraying to the interviewee. During the selection process the Interviewer gives a sense out their ethos and their attitude towards the company. This approach transmits to the Interviewee and Influences them In such a way that can determine the enthusiasm on being hired (Qwabe, 2013, P. 7) The other influence the organizational culture has is the experience the workers bring with them from previous employers and other external forces. Past experience can affect the work ethics and any contribution an individual may have with the current company. The influence towards the organizational culture can also be vice versa, In which the experience the company had with the previous employees. In such case the organization learns from critical experiences from the external forces. As the learning occurred, the organizations history becomes memories that After the selection process the organization must continue the positive attitudes nd work as leaders to maintain the positive behavior to ensure long term survival for the organization culture. When the organization leaders motivates the employees, the employers are more likely to feel engaged to their work resulting from better and more satisfactorily work outcomes (Sarrows, Cooper, Santora, 2008, P. 46). There are many tactics some organizations have developed to transmit this motivation and to enhance the positive working environment within the organizational culture. There are six factors in which the organizational leaders use to promote the positive environment. These six are; articulating a vision for the future, providing an appropriate role model, fostering the acceptance of goals, setting high performance expectat ions, providing individual support and providing intellectual stimulation (Sarrows, Cooper, Santora, 2008, P. 46-147). Organizational leaders use these six factors to affiliate it into their own leadership style. This helps them with the enhancement of creativity and innovation by advocating the organizational culture. There are four functions in which help bring the organization’s culture to life. These four functions include organizational identity, sense making device, collective commitment and social system stability (Qwabe, 2013, P. 12). The first function that will be discussed is the organizational identity. When an organization has a sense of identity it is giving the employees a better sense with what the organization wants, giving the employee a more coherent vision and understanding to the organizations objective. Therefor it is providing the employee a more comfortable state where the employee can feel more part of the mission while also strengthening the establishment of what the company is really about and what they stand for. The second function is the collective commitment. When referring to collective commitment we are referring to the energy the employee drives around the important aspects of the favors the organization. It is important for an organization to articulate collective commitments because when employees assemble together and commit themselves to their goals and missions, the relationship amongst each other change for the better. They feel morally obligated to embody their own actions and motivate each other to reach their daily goals. Social system stability is another function of organizational cultural, yet it is also a very important appliance to the organization itself. Social system stability provides a more positive work environment giving the opportunity for the employees to have a more respectable work place. This function helps employees with the ability to resolve conflicts using a problem-focused approach rather than a person focused approach or a blaming mentality. These approaches help avoid any possible conflicts in the workplace creating the workplace to be less tensed and a more complaisant environment. device the organizational culture is being given a broader understanding on what the company’s strategy and values are. I was at the schools for a total of six years, and after that first year I put on other hats than just being the policeman. I worked closely with the school counselor, school social worker, and school psychologist.   I was content with my police career with helping others, but the school psychologist insisted I return to college and get my bachelors degree and pursue a career in counseling.The school psychologist told me he had been observing my interactions with students and parents during times of crisis, and he felt that I would be a good counselor.   I was appreciative of the compliment, but I was content with my current career. The next school year, the school psychologist approached me again after we had completed an interview wi th a parent. He reiterated his thoughts of me returning to school and getting a degree in psychology. He told me that there was a high demand for black counselors especially males, and felt I needed to really consider a change in professions.Stereotypes connected to black males who are born in America have to be overcome. Among these stereotypes are the presumptions that black males are violent, loud, and lazy freeloaders, etc. This is why I have a specific interest in creating the opportunity for adolescent black males to advance.   I mentioned I was raised by a single mother a majority of my life; however, for a couple years I was able to be influenced by a person whom I consider my step-father. He is no longer alive but he did instill in my mind that young black males have to work hard and save money but the worldview is that whites are superior to blacks.False superiority of white population and civil rights of blacksThe notion of whites feeling that they are superior to black s was as upheld by my mother. My mother was raised in Mississippi and lived through the time of slavery. I recall my mother telling me stories of the Klu Klux Klan killing black men for no reason, but society accepted this as the norm. My mother currently has white friends but she made it clear to me and my brothers that she did not want a white person in her family.   Later in life, I married a Caucasian woman and my mother had a hard time dealing with it because of her past experiences. I respected my mother’s opinion but at the same time I tried to show her how time had changed, and that interracial dating has increased. My mother indicated that in the South, my wife would be considered â€Å"white trash†.My mother shared the story of Emmit Till with me. Emmitt Till was a black male who was from Chicago Illinois but visiting relatives in Money Mississippi. It was reported that 14 year old Emmitt whistled and flirted with a white woman, Carolyn Bryant, in a small c onvenience store while in Mississippi. Carolyn was the owner of the store and she reported Emmitt Till’s actions to her husband. Carolyn’s husband and his brother-in-law abducted Emmitt Till from his family’s house. They took him to a barn, beat him and gouged out one of his eyes, before shooting him through the head and disposing of his body in the Tallahatchie River. They weighted his body down by tied a 70 pound cotton gin fan around Emmitt Till’s neck with barbwire. Till’s body was returned to Chicago and his mother, Mamie Till, requested that the casket remain open, so others could see what racism in America looked like, which brought up questions on civil rights for those in Mississippi. Those responsible for Till’s murder were tried in the court of law and found not guilty, but they later admitted publicly to the crime (Wall, 2012). Not only were the perpetrators acquitted, but they also sold their story to a popular magazine after the trial, in which they boldly described their crime of torture with legal immunity. They were as safe in their egregious actions as the precedent setting plantation slave owners before them (Wall, 2012).Todays version of murder and legal immunity appears with the automatic, police response to the fatal shooting of unarmed, seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin as self-defense. The uproar over the failure to arrest the confessed killer and to fully investigate Trayvon Martins death has underscored the institutional resistance to justice and an entrenched orientation that is not uncommon in post-racial America as long as you play by the rules. The rules today requi re you always to denounce racism, to blame the victim and to allow the tenor of murder to teach the subtle lesson of role and place. Emmett Till should have known his place and not whistled at a white woman; Trayvon Martin should not have worn a hoodie. Racist conditioning provides the prism through which deadly force is embraced as a right and a subtle instrument of control. Both girls joined in on the Bible study and after it was finished we discussed our different views on religion. Kara was intrigued that I was reading the Bible, because she also had a religious background which differed from mine. Kara repeatedly would show up at my house with our mutual friend.   I tried to set Kara up with the drummer at my church. The drummer was Causation just like Kara. They went on one date and decided that one date was good.Kara and I eventually started dating but she had to hide it from her parents. One day Kara’s mother arrived at my house while Kara was there. The front door was open but the screen door was locked. I told Kara the person at the door was yelling her name. Kara looked out and seen that it was her mother. Kara was a high school senior and was scared to go to the door and speak with her mother. Kara went home right after her mother left my house. Kara told her parents that we were dating. Kara’s parents told her that she had to break up with me. Kara called me in the presence of her parents and broke up with me.   Kara later called me and told me that her parents had forced her to call me and break up. Kara wanted me to know that she wasn’t going to break up with me and that if she could not come to my house with her parent’s consent then she would sneak over.Kara called me the next day and stated her parents heard her talking with me over the telephone. Kara’s parents wanted to know why Kara was defying them, and were Kara still a virgin.   Kara was still a virgin as we had not had sex, because she wanted to wait until she was married.   Kara’s parents gave her ultimatums to either really break up with me or move out of their house. Kara asked if she could stay with me and if I could come and pick her up.   Kara chose our relationship over her family; therefore, Kara was kicked out of the house and her parents took her car and sold it to one of Kara’s friends. Kara’s parents informed my mother that as long as I was black I would never be able to step foot into their house. It has been about nineteen years since that statement was said, but to my mother it was like it was said yesterday.Kara’s parents did no t come to our marriage they did not want to give their daughter away to a black man plus, lose her virginity to a black man. I believe it was the stereotype of the black man which kept them from knowing â€Å"me†. I was able to show them that I could fulfill my responsibility as a husband and provide for my family without their assistance. Kara’s parents realized that they would not be a part of their only daughter’s life or their grandchildren’s lives. Kara became pregnant with our oldest son who is now fourteen years old. Kara called her mother to get family history in order to be able to tell the doctor. Kara’s mother reached out and asked to be a part of our lives. She attended birthing classes with us. We discussed our hurts that we had caused one another, and Kara’s mother was the pillar that caused the rest of the family to change their view. It means the evaluation and correction of doctrine. One doctrine is not just as good as another unless it gives equal expression to the same belief, equal in the sense of being as true to experience and as easy to understand in the terms of its expression. A detached study of doctrines in relation to knowledge as a whole is undertaken in the philosophy of religion (Foster, 2000). Some doctrines do not change with changing a life but remain constant because the aspect of the experience to which they refer remains constant. An example, to be discussed more fully later, is the doctrine of the two natures of Christ. Working with the facts of Jesus' humanity and the conviction of his Deity as well, the Church after rejecting doctrinal formulations expressed in terms of dual personalities, or dual wills, or Divine spirit inhabiting a human body, settled on the doctrine of the two natures; namely, that Christ was fully man and fully God, yet one person (Willard, 2000). The doctrine of the two natures of Christ is held to this day because a better formulation of the central conviction has not been found. And, of course, insofar as there is similarity of belief and culture, there will be similarity of doctrine--hence, the degree of consistency within a particular religion that sets it apart from other religions. For example, in the doctrine of the Trinity--that God is one in three persons--person means something quite different from our contemporary idea of a person. Failure to appreciate this often makes people think that Christianity affirms the existence of three Gods. Or again, Protestants affirm their faith in the "holy Catholic Church," even though for many of them the first association of the word catholic is with the Roman Catholic Church rather than with the universal body of Christian believers, as they really define it.
